Since 2005, Bristol Foundry has provided specialist and bespoke castings services to Bristol and the surrounding area. Bristol Foundry is one of the few remaining family owned small foundries in the UK, and the last commercial foundry operating in the Bristol area. We are able to provide one-off castings, or production runs depending on your requirements.
We have carried out work for numerous companies and organisations across various sectors, including:
Architectural restoration
Councils
Heritage Organisations
Artists and Sculpters
Restoration Projects (Automotive, Railway, Traction engine, Marine, Machine tools, etc)
Museums & trusts
Equipment suppliers
Domestic appliances and furnishings
Private individuals
Because Bristol Foundry is a small family run firm without the large overheads of bigger companies, we are able to focus on meeting customer needs, and offering competetive pricing for what is increasingly becoming a specialist area of manufacturing.
In late 2015 Bristol Foundry moved to our present premises in Winterbourne, which are approximately three times larger than the previous premises. This has allowed the business to go on expanding and taking on more work and larger castings.
Mike has almost 40 years of experience in the foundry business, and holds a City & Guilds qualification in foundry studies and practice, from Reid Kerr College of Technology in Paisley, Scotland.
Mike served his apprentiship at Thom Lamont Marine Engineering, and has subsequently worked in numerous foundries in the UK and Ireland, before starting Bristol Foundry in 2005.
Mike's vast knowledge and experience of foundry work means that he is almost always able to offer a solution, to even the most difficult casting problems.
